Like The Red Cross St John Ambulance and Surf Lifesaving, we are fully regulated by The Australian Government’s Skills Quality Authority (ASQEA) to provide the health, safety and emergency first aid qualifications we deliver in Lismore. Our CPR courses training course in Lismore is recognised by the Royal Australian College Of General Practitioners (RACGP CPD programs, Austswim and all national bodies as the required standard for CPR and AED training in Australia. We can also tailor the training to your specific needs. eg dental surgeries, Doctors and medical staff, aged and disability support workers, nurses etc. Our regulation is through this national government accreditation body to provide professional courses and accredited qualifications.
Course Requirements
If you don’t have a training device or expired stock of the Penthrox Methoxyflurane inhaler, you will need to purchase a Penthrox Methoxyflurane Training Pack before assessment, is available on our website here.
A Current First Aid Certificate. A current HLTAID011 provide first aid certificate is a prerequisite for enrolment into the course.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to complete this course in English.
Access to a computer with the internet, as well as basic computer skills, is required for completion of this unit.
If you have ANY special needs (e.g., language/literacy/numeracy difficulties/ physical disabilities etc) that you think may impact on your ability to complete this training, please let us know before enrolling.
Participants MUST research the legalities relating to the carrying and use of Methoxyflurane in their state/territory.
A photo ID must be provided as part of this online course
Course Prerequisites
Student’s attending the PUAEME008 Provide pain management course must hold a current statement of attainment in HLTAID011 Provide first aid.
Student’s must also be at least 18 years of age at the time of attendance.
Certificate Validity
The PUAEME008 Provide pain management certificate is a nationally recognised course.
Certificate Renewal Requirements
While there are no industry recommended renewal, requirements, we strongly recommend that this certificate should to be renewed 12 months after completion to refresh knowledge and skills about drug administration. This is particularly relevant as many people using this drug are in workplaces such as sport medicine, schools or other workplaces with low clinical interactions and patient numbers. Students will benefit from refreshing their knowledge and skills using pain medications, including the clinical contraindications, precautions and adverse effects of drugs administered in pre-hospital care and uncontrolled environments with limited clinical support or additional staff and resources.
Unique Student Identifier Number (USI)
From 1 January 2015 anyone undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you have not yet applied for a USI, you will have to do so before attending training with us. To apply or to check if you already have a USI number is a quick and painless online process at the Australian Government website https://www.usi.gov.au/. Follow the prompts as a student. If you require help in obtaining one, please contact the office. If you are unable or choose not to provide an USI, or have an exemption granted under the Student Identifiers Act 2014, then your training outcome will not be recorded on your USI account and will not be available in future years as part of the authenticated USI transcript service.
